Teaching Artist (Part-time hourly, $40 per hour)
NIA seeks to build its community of diverse Teaching Artists who are passionate about sharing their practice with youth in grades K-8. Teaching Artists provide curriculum driven, project based learning, resulting in a culminating event and/or live performance. Each Teaching Artist commits to a specific residency period based on their proposed curriculum and programming and specific site schedule.
Under the supervision of the Education Department, Teaching Artists propose course ideas, prepare course materials, and then lead students through high quality course objectives. Teaching Artists implement skill-based learning to inspire their students to innovate, think critically, express themselves, find joy in the process of making, and to help them achieve their learning goals.
