We are looking for a Senior UI Artist to help craft a new, unannounced game for Blizzard. As a senior individual contributor, you will work closely with UX/UI leadership, game designers, engineers, and art leads to create clean, intuitive, and visually compelling user interfaces. You are a strong advocate for the player experience, championing usability while setting a high bar for Blizzard‑quality UI craftsmanship.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA or Albany, NY.

  • Apply a deep understanding of UX/UI best practices and visual design principles, including color theory, typography, layout, and hierarchy.
  • Partner closely with UX, design, and art teams to create final, high‑fidelity UI visuals for game interfaces.
  • Create and maintain high‑quality UI art assets, including illustrated icons, UI components, decorative graphic elements, and menu art.
  • Collaborate with production, design, and engineering teams to ensure UI designs align with project goals, gameplay needs, and technical constraints.
  • Pitch and present UI designs clearly and effectively through strong written and verbal communication.
  • Balance, prioritize, and organize tasks to meet deadlines in a dynamic production environment.
  • Self‑critique work and actively incorporate objective feedback to continuously improve quality.

Experience

  • Proven experience delivering high‑quality UI for games or interactive experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong visual design fundamentals, including color theory, typography, composition, and iconography.
  • Expertise in creating polished, production‑ready UI assets.
  • Ability to communicate design intent clearly to both artistic and technical partners.
  • Experience balancing usability, aesthetics, and technical constraints in game UI development.

Key Attributes

  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of UI deliverables.
  • A player‑first mindset with a passion for usability and intuitive design.
  • Self‑motivated work ethic and ability to operate independently within a collaborative team environment.
  • Openness to feedback and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Extra Points

  • A strong portfolio showcasing expert craftsmanship through the lens of UI design.
  • Motion‑graphics experience.
  • Experience implementing UI designs directly in‑engine.

Required Application Materials

  • Resume.
  • Links to an online portfolio showcasing UI work.
  • Cover letter (preferred).
