About Julyardi

Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit, client focused organisation that delivers collective impact and wraparound services to the Hedland Aboriginal Community.

You will be part of a growing, innovative, local Aboriginal Corporation that operates with the guidance of Hedland Aboriginal Strong Leaders.

About the Role

You will lead Julyardi’s community infrastructure project from planning through to construction. That means reworking the business case and project model to meet funder requirements, securing capital funding, resolving land arrangements, setting up project governance and procurement, and managing relationships with government, industry and design partners.

The role reports directly to the CEO, manages one direct report based in Hedland, and sits on Julyardi’s management team, contributing to the leadership of the organisation alongside project delivery.

What You Will Do

  • Rework and update the business case and project model to reflect current costings, staging and funder expectations.
  • Identify, pursue and secure capital funding from local, state and federal government, industry and philanthropic sources.
  • Lead land discussions and negotiations with relevant government and local authorities.
  • Establish project governance and procurement processes, and manage the project budget.
  • Manage relationships with government, industry, design and community stakeholders.
  • Manage and support the Hedland-based Community Engagement Officer.

What You Will Bring

  • Demonstrated experience managing large scale, complex infrastructure or capital works projects.
  • Demonstrated experience developing business cases and securing government funding.
  • Demonstrated experience working with government at local, state and federal levels.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing staff.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including to Perth and Hedland.
  • A genuine commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal people and communities.
