We are seeking a Senior Technical Artist with deep expertise in Unreal Engine and strong experience working with Maya or similar DCC tools to support and enhance our production workflows. The ideal candidate will be proficient in troubleshooting Unreal Engine issues, developing tools, and optimizing materials and visual assets. Familiarity with AYON - an open source pipeline framework by Ynput, is a strong advantage, as it plays a key role in our production process.
This role requires expertise in Unreal Engine blueprints, materials, and material collections, along with experience in Python for tool development and automation. Perforce proficiency is crucial for managing asset workflows and project setups. Familiarity with SOLID principles is a plus, as it supports efficient code structuring and maintainability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Troubleshoot Unreal Engine issues and provide technical support to artists and production teams to maintain smooth workflows.
● Develop and optimize Unreal Engine blueprints, materials, and material collections to improve production efficiency and visual quality.
● Build tools and prototypes in Unreal Engine for artists to use in editor.
● Collaborate with artists and engineers to optimize workflows, including leveraging Maya or similar DCC tools.
● Manage AYON pipeline and Perforce setups for show production, including Unreal render widgets and slate setups.
● Handle Perforce automation, stream setups, and workspace management to streamline integration with production tools.
● Contribute to performance improvements in Unreal Engine, focusing on rendering optimization and troubleshooting issues like UE 5.4 rendering with Lumen and path tracing.
● Work alongside cross-functional teams to implement custom tools and workflows that enhance the Unreal Engine pipeline and DCC tools.
● Stay informed about the latest Unreal Engine advancements and share knowledge with the team.
● Assist with VAD template cleanups, master material setups, and Slate tool improvements.
●Document technical solutions and share processes to foster collaboration within the team.

Requirements and Qualifications:
● Extensive experience with Unreal Engine, especially in blueprints, materials, and material collections.
● Hands-on experience with Maya or similar DCC tools.
● Proven ability to troubleshoot Unreal Engine issues in a production environment.
● Experience with AYON (open-source pipeline framework) is beneficial.
● Strong proficiency in Python.
● Proficiency with Perforce for managing streams, automating setups, and version control.
● Ability to communicate effectively with both artists and engineers, understanding the technical and creative aspects of the workflow.
● Experience with real-time asset optimization for enhanced performance.
● Strong understanding of artist workflows and the ability to streamline processes.
● Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on mentoring and sharing best practices.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to shifting project needs.
● Familiarity with our tech stack (Unreal Engine, Maya, Adobe, Python, FastAPI, QT, Dear ImGui, C++, AWS) is a plus.
● Knowledge of Unreal Engine C++ is an advantage but not required.
● Familiarity with SOLID principles is preferred for creating maintainable and efficient code.
