Job Description

C2's client, a respected Milwaukee creative agency known for high-craft work and a team that sticks around, seeks contract Production Artists to power through a high-volume packaging update project for a global power tool brand.

Since the 1990s, the agency has built a reputation for high-quality work and a culture people do not leave, including the dedicated team that handles packaging and brand work for a global power tool leader. This project is a large batch of packaging SKU updates: high volume, detail-intensive, and frankly tedious. The edits themselves are simple and repetitive, going into existing packaging files, removing specified content, re-saving, and updating the related engineering forms. The work is well-organized and folder-driven, with clear direction from the client's team, so the challenge is not complexity. It is speed, accuracy, and consistency across a lot of files.

This is production work, not design. It rewards a fast, meticulous production artist who can settle into repetitive work and keep quality high file after file. The client sets a high bar, and any C2 talent on this project will need to bring their A-game to meet it and deliver. If you take pride in being the person who can be handed 300 files and turn them around clean, accurate, and on time, this one is for you.

Start Date: Mid-July 2026 at the earliest
Duration: On demand; the project must wrap by mid-September 2026. Expect roughly 20 to 30+ hours per week for about 4 to 6 weeks, as files are ready for work.
Location: Remote; asynchronous work is fine
Compensation: $28 to $38/hour, as a W2 employee of C2
Technology: Talent provides their own hardware and software. Work is in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign and Illustrator).

Responsibilities:

  • Update a high volume of packaging files in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, following clear specs from the client's team
  • Make defined edits to existing files, including removing specified content and re-saving, while keeping layout and formatting intact
  • Update the engineering forms tied to each packaging file
  • Work efficiently through large batches of files in a folder-driven workflow
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency across every file, and flag anything unclear

Requirements:

  • Production experience, ideally with packaging or other high-volume, spec-driven file work, with attention to brand standards
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator for production work
  • Confidence sourcing data from a spreadsheet for inclusion within an established template/file
  • Proven speed and accuracy doing repetitive, detail-heavy work
  • Able to follow direction precisely and work autonomously and asynchronously once briefed
  • Reliable availability of 20 to 30+ hours per week during the project window
  • Proactive communication style, verbal and written

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with packaging
  • Familiarity with engineering or spec forms tied to packaging
