Reporting to the Head of Advanced Sales, the leader of the Advanced Concept Design Group (ACDG), will be responsible for enhancing the efficiency and performance of the ACDG team. This role involves overseeing dynamic, specialized support teams, developing processes, collaborating with other departments within National Sales and throughout the home office and our field partner, and ensuring the Concept Design Group has the resources and information needed to meet targets. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, talent development, and relationship management with internal and external partners.
The Team
The Advanced Concept Design Group consists of talented, seasoned associates that help break complex planning ideas down into tangible, defined outputs. Within the team there are complex illustration consultants, business evaluation and social security experts, as well as a life competition unit. The leader of this group will develop processes, ideas and work ethics that maximize everyone’s talent and can ensure that the group works towards helping clients secure their futures and protect the ones they love. The leader must be able to lead by example. They will be expected to provide back up support when required.
The Impact:
Sales strategy and support: Collaborates with leadership to create and execute multi-year plans, forecasts growth, and provides strategic leadership across the life insurance business both within product, new business, and sales.
Team management: Oversees and develops concept design sales support staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Process improvement: Focuses on enhancing workflows, centralizing support functions, and improving the efficiency of operations to support sales efforts.
Cross-functional collaboration: Works with other departments, such as underwriting, product, and claims, to ensure seamless and efficient service for the concept design sales team.
Product and market knowledge: Need a deep understanding of life products to meet diverse client needs and stay current with industry changes.
Performance tracking: Sets performance targets, tracks results using KPIs, and leads initiatives to drive sales growth.
Qualifications
Series 6 or 7, and 24 or 26 (the 24 or 26 can be obtained within 6 months of hire)
10 years in an advanced markets role with demonstrated success
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a sales team.
Strategic thinking: Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Product and concept knowledge: In-depth knowledge of life insurance products, including whole life, term, variable universal life, survivorship products (as well as various riders). In addition, knowledge of concepts like split dollar, 162 bonus, deferred compensation, business valuations, is critical.
Experience working in or with a large financial company
Collaboration with both work teams and multiple home office partners along with our advisors in the field
Experience with premium financing, nonqualified fringe benefit planning, business continuation planning, qualified plans, complex trusts, financial planning and charitable planning.

Salary Range:
$163,900-$215,000At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees. Your total compensation package includes either a bonus target or in a sales-focused role a Variable Incentive Compensation component.
