CGI Artist

We are further expanding our CGI & storytelling capabilities at Above, and are now looking for a self-driven CGI Artist to join our global design team. This is a full-time role in either our Stockholm or Malmö studio (though with a preference for a Stockholm-based hire for best synergies), and available immediately.

Job Description
As a CGI Artist at Above, you will get the opportunity to work with multi-disciplinary project teams on a broad range of cutting-edge design & innovation projects for some of the world's most exciting clients. 



You will be an integral part of our design team, working closely with our creatives in shaping excellent project deliveries and external communication efforts through impactful storytelling (often with a product focus). Once here, you will conceptualise and produce high-quality CG content for stills and video projects, with a focus on renders and animations that combine creativity, storytelling, realism, as well as materials & light. Your strong technical skillset and conceptual ability to develop engaging visual narratives will allow you to have direct impact in elevating our creative output. This role further comes with the exciting opportunity to contribute to evolving our CGI processes & workflows as we take the next leap.


Our work is exciting and diverse in nature, ranging from physical products, digital experiences, to strategically shaping holistic brand stories, portfolios and ecosystems - all requiring a nuanced and adapted design approach.

What we are looking for
We are excited to connect with skilled CGI Artists, and believe you possess many of these qualities to thrive in this role: 


• Fluency in Cinema 4D + Redshift, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with other software platforms such as Houdini, Davinci Resolve Studio or similar are considered a plus
• An inspiring portfolio showcasing a great artistic eye for light, composition and storytelling, with an emphasis on photorealistic product visualisations and animations (studio and contextual)
• Preferably at least a few years of relevant professional experience
• Know-how of basic mechanical animations and rigging
• Understanding of design / project workflows within an agency context, and ability to adjust fidelity, toolbox and timelines fluently
• Interest and experience in generative AI workflows and emerging tools
• Aesthetic sensibility and a discerning, detail-orientated eye for visual culture (e.g. form, colors, graphics, materials, interfaces etc)

• Openness to take creative direction and feedback from peers, paired with an ability to proactively explore & develop visual style directions

• Self-propelled, independent way of working, and proactive personality
• A humble and collaborative team player with an optimistic approach to problem-solving and ambiguous conceptual challenges

• Ability to clearly communicate ideas and results verbally and visually, both towards internal teams, clients and external stakeholders 

  
  
  
• Photography and videography editing experience considered a plus
• Experience with simulations and geometry nodes considered a plus
• Previous experience with Rhino 3D and Keyshot considered a plus
