Quick Rundown:
The 3D Artist will transform raster graphics into fully-realized 3D models for manufacturing and marketing custom promotional items, including power banks, USB drives, keychains, charms, and more. This role blends artistic creativity with technical expertise and product knowledge to deliver accurate, attractive, and manufacturable designs. The 3D Artist will assist the Art Director and VP of Marketing.
What Youll Do:
Design detailed, original, and manufacturable 3D product models and renderings for custom-shaped promotional merchandise using CAD and visualization tools, matching client specifications and brand guidelines.
Collaborate with marketing, sales, and suppliers to troubleshoot and refine designs, ensuring manufacturability and maintaining product integrity.
Rebuild raster logos/graphics into vector artwork.
Stay current on materials, manufacturing techniques, and design trends in consumer goods and promotional products.
Contribute creative input for product enhancements and brand extensions
Prepare and export files compatible with injection molding and other manufacturing processes.
Create photorealistic renders for client presentations, marketing collateral, and e-commerce listings.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
What Were Looking For:
2+ years experience in 3D modeling for product or industrial design, preferably including small promotional items.
A well structured and compelling portfolio that demonstrates relevant 3D modeling experience and showcases your design process.
Advanced proficiency in key 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, Fusion 360, SOLIDWORKS, Rhino, or similar).
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with primary focus on Illustrator and Photoshop.
Familiarity with conversion and integration between raster artwork and 3D workflows.
Solid working knowledge of product manufacturing processes: injection molding, 3D printing, etc.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and cloud storage systems.
Good communication and teamwork skills for effective cross-department collaboration.
Personal commitment to quality, effective time management and attention to detail.
Experience visualizing materials (plastics, metals, rubber) and creating technical illustrations.
Knowledge of file preparation for physical product prototyping and mass manufacturing.
Prior work with promotional products, retail brands, or consumer electronics
